Experience the beauty of the Andaman Islands with a scenic drive through lush forests, coastal roads, and turquoise shores. Discover hidden gems, breathtaking views, and the serene charm that makes the Andaman a true paradise.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are one of the top travel destinations in India now, and what is surprising is that these two islands are entirely different entities. Primarily, tourists visit the Andaman Islands, but are you familiar with the fact that you can explore the entirety of this magical island via road? That’s right! Famous for destinations like Port Blair, Havelock Island, and Neil Island, you can plan a scenic journey through this tropical paradise.

However, if you are not sure about the top routes that you should explore and the places that you should see, then this blog will ensure that you have all the information for your own adventure across the island.

  1. Start your journey from Port Blair

Every Andaman tour travel package starts from Port Blair, which makes this destination the perfect place to start your road trip. Since the capital is the only place with an international airport, you will arrive in Andaman via the Veer Savarkar International Airport. Once you arrive, you can take some time to explore the town and get adjusted to the environment.

One of the biggest attractions that you should definitely visit is the Cellular Jail, which is also a national monument that stands tall as a symbol of India’s freedom struggle. As the sun sets, you can relax at Corbyn’s Cove beach and enjoy sports like jet skiing.

  1. Drive through the wonders of the Andaman Trunk Road

To start this trip, you need to head north on the Andaman Trunk Road. It is often recommended to start early in the morning, as you need to pass through a protected forest area that is inhabited by the indigenous Jarawa tribe. Keep in mind that vehicles always travel in convoys, as there are strict rules about interacting with the community.

The first stop on this trip will be Baratang Island, which is famous for its limestone caves and mud volcanoes. Once you reach the island, you need to get on a boat, and you will soon reach these caves, which are one of the most authentic experiences on the island.

  1. Enjoy the ethereal beauty of Diglipur

Next up is Diglipur, way up in the north of the Andaman Islands. On your way there, make sure to stop at Ross and Smith Islands. These two are linked by a natural sandbar that shows up at low tide, pretty incredible to see. The water here is so clear, it’s perfect for snorkeling. Once you reach Diglipur, check out beaches like Kalipur.

  1. Make way to Havelock Island

Of course, you can’t visit the Andamans without heading to Havelock Island, officially called Swaraj Dweep these days. Rent a scooter and go beach-hopping. Radhanagar Beach is the big draw. The sand is almost blindingly white, the water’s unbelievably blue, and the place gets global praise for its beauty and clean environment. There’s never a dull moment, which is why this island is always included in an Andaman tour and travel package.

When you are done, you can make your way back to Port Blair, from where you can return with a bag full of memories.
